Apple mail asks for password

Problem

Apple Mail/Entourage/other applications asks constantly for a password. Why doesn´t it remeber the password I saved? How can I fix it?

Solution

You can try to delete the account in the email client and recreate it.
If the problem persists, the Mac OS-X keychain may be corrupted.

Launch Keychain Access (Applications / Utilities) and select the option SOS Keychain (Access Key Ring / Keychain First Aid).

Enter the username and password of an administrator.
Verify the keychain and if it contains errors repair it.
