Ssh session locked: how to unlock terminal

Problem

Sometimes my ssh session locks and I cannot reset or unlock it in any way.
I must kill the session and login again, remove the swp file - if using vi - and restart my work.

Solution

<Ctrl-s> locks unix terminals (and also ssh sessions). To unlock hit <ctrl-q>.

Type:
# stty -a

...to show all control characters enabled.
